Title : OCC Playoff's Coverage Posted by : chinzar

The playoffs are here!
There will be 2 final brackets, an A final bracket in dual elemination and a B final in single elemination for the teams that dropped out in the groupstage. Unlucky for our fun team but they did not make the A finals, but deathless.css did.
Our css team ended 2nd in there group and faced the winner from poule 4, Significa. Significa who beat topfavorit eM was destined to win, or not?
Deathless.css showed that they had prepared well for this lan event and showed no mercy at all for Signifca. Mainly the first map, mill was totaly dominated by our team. 16-5 was the score here. 2nd map dust2 was a lot closer but all our players kept their heads cool and won dust2 with 16-13.
Next step is the upperbracket semifinal where our team will face Knallers, a mix team, but still a lot of respect is needed for these guys since they all earned their credit in the scene. This will most likely be a verry close match but i have a good feeling after our team's quarter final.
Update:
The Source team won their semifinal match vs Knallers, Scores were 16-6 on train and 16-10 on dust2. Our team is now in the upperbracket final!
Update 2:
The upperbracket final is played, unfortunalty the team lost in a 3 map match. deathless 1-2 eM
The lowerbracket final against pM, also here a 3mapper and again no luck for the team, score again 1-2.
This was it, the lan is over but a 3rd result is still a verry good result!

Deathless.css has been set in poule A, a rather managable groupstage with only one realy hard opponent and that is Team EDIT.eu
Deathless.fun has it a lot harder, they are put with teams like ParadisM one of the upcomming teams in Belgium and winner of CAL open west.
The groups
Poule A.
EDIT.eu
Deathless.css
FMF
Clanpoint.com
TBUH
Poule B.
ParadisM
Insulted.be
Willing to die
Deathless.fun
Significa2
Poule C.
Knallers
JP
Fraction
vQ
Final Prayers
Poule D.
Voilance is bad
electroMinded
Significa
Dearlock
Freaks United.
First results are allready in, i will keep updating these.
Deathless.css 16 - 0 Clanpoint.com
Deathless.css 16 - 1 TBUH
Deathless.css 16 - 1 FMF
Deathless.css 14 - 16 EDIT.eu
Deathless.fun 0 - 16 ParadisM
Deathless.fun 2 - 16 Significa2
Deathless.fun 10 - 16 Willing to die
UPDATE:
eM, the topfavorite before the lan began, has lost from Significa in the Groupstage with 10-16. A big shock for most since Significa is only playing with a mix and is normaly a 1.6 team... |

Title : Netgamez BV Bankrupt.. Posted by : kroz
Catagorie : Events |

Dear friends and readers,
With the news a while ago, that the Fall Event of the Netgamez LAN wasn't gonna be held, and the Netgamez staff aiming for a higer goal in the gaming scene, they seem to have cut themselves. The target was a bigger and broader event, for more gamers and entertainment lovers. This was by the looks on the Internet too far out for the staff and the business Netgamez B.V.
On the 25th of september 2007, The court in the Netherlands officially declared Netgamez B.V. bankrupt. This closes down a chapter which probably was one of the bigger LAN events in the Benelux, having a capacity from around 1500 gamers. I myself have attended this LAN one time, and have to say the organisation was well done. Never would i have thought it to end like this for Netgamez.
But never say never, and back then when those messages of a bigger event being organised got published, and the old format of Netgamez being canceled i got scared this would happen. The perfect excuse for covering up internal problems is a promise the future will be bigger and better, isn't it?
(ofcourse a bankruptcy can be a strategic move to startup some new concept of events, we should always keep this in mind, but lets keep it with this till we hear more news)
With this section of the gaming events being shut down, and Deathless having the ambition of attending more LAN's, we now have to look elsewhere to show that dominating skill... i mean classic friendliness we got in store for eachother.
This was kroz, for scene watching news,
kroz, signing out. .. |

Title : Clanbase Eurocup finished. Posted by : chinzar
Catagorie : Events |

This week the grand final of the Clanbase Counterstrike Source Eurocup was played.
Fnatic, the winnerbrack finalist faced Team Logitech who came from the loserbrackets.
Before the match Fnatic was the favorite to win. They beat Logitech before so why not again?
Match took off on de_contra the map chosen by Logitech, Logitech started as CT, dominated this side with verry strong defence. As Tside they proved again to be the better on this map and won the map with 16-10.
Fnatic only had to win one map, Logitech had to win 2 for the gold. 2nd map was de_train, this map is seen as the best map for Fnatic.
Both teams were verry equal on this map and it came to a draw. Overtime had to decide who went home with the gold cup, and who had to be satisfied with the silver.
In this overtime, Fnatic showed they are the best team in europe and dominated Logitech right from the start. No mistakes were allowed and so they did. Fnatic took the 2nd map and the gold. It did not went as easy as some thought it would but still, in the end Fnatic pulled the strings.
